Remicade

Infusion-based anti-TNF therapy for severe, rapidly progressive disease.

Remicade (infliximab) is given by intravenous infusion, delivering anti-TNF therapy with the speed that severe disease demands. It is reserved for extensive psoriasis, generalised pustular flares, severe hidradenitis and cases where injectable therapy has failed.

  • Weight-based dosing
  • Induction infusions
  • Supervised administration
  • Immunomodulator co-therapy
Understanding

Diagnosed first, treated second.

Infusions are supervised in clinic with observation throughout. Weight-based dosing, an immunomodulator where appropriate and careful spacing of doses maintain response and reduce the chance of antibody formation.

Who it is for
  • Severe or rapidly worsening disease
  • Failure of injectable biologics
  • Generalised pustular or erythrodermic flares
  • Severe hidradenitis with extensive tunnelling
  • Able to attend supervised infusions
Protocol

How the treatment works

A sequence, not a single appointment — each step informs the next.

  1. 01

    Selection

Severity, speed of progression and prior therapy determine whether infusion is the right route.

  2. 02

    Screening

Tuberculosis and hepatitis screening, cardiac history and baseline bloodwork.

  3. 03

    Induction infusions

Weeks zero, two and six, each supervised with observation for reaction.

  4. 04

    Maintenance

Infusions every six to eight weeks, with interval and dose set by response.

Questions

Frequently asked

Around two hours, with a period of observation afterwards during the early doses.

It delivers higher, weight-adjusted dosing quickly — valuable when disease is severe or progressing fast.

Infusion reactions are uncommon and managed immediately, which is why dosing is supervised in clinic.

It can be. Interval and dose are adjusted, and de-escalation is considered once disease is stable.
